ABOUT US

What is Rotary?

Our goal is to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

We are a fun loving club with 35 business and professional members. Various member social events are held throughout the year such as Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, golf tournaments, Christmas events, summer events such as dinner and cruise on the North Saskatchewan River.
Being a Rotarian presents the opportunity to become involved and to give back to your community – both locally and internationally, and gives you the opportunity to make new friends within the global Rotary network.

We meet every Wednesday morning from 7:15 am — 8:30 am for breakfast at the Delta Inn South. We have interesting and informative speakers present at most of our weekly meetings.

What would it take to change the world?

Rotary’s 1.2 million members believe it starts with a commitment to Service Above Self. In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you’ll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio.

Building and supplying a school in Mozambique

Our club’s international school project in Mozambique began with 400 students and has grown to 1130 daytime students, as well academic evening upgrading programs for adults are in place. A computer classroom and library have just been built, and it is our intention to supply the school with computers, library books, and other related accessories.
Part of the funds raised from Robust Reds will assist us with this next step of the project. For more information regarding the history of the Rotary Club and its many charitable programs please refer to the international site as well as the Edmonton Gateway site.
